Following the recent launch of the V and S90 with ads featuring Zlatan Ibrahimović, we now have the first spy shots of a higher and more rugged V90 called the Cross Country.
Much like the old XC70, the V90 Cross Country is expected to get a soft off-road look, with new bumpers, wider fenders in matte grey or black, and bigger roof rails. Bigger wheels and tires are also expected round out the package.
Unfortunately, the Cross Country is well camouflaged, so many of the details that will differentiate it from its on-road brethren can’t be seen. What can be seen, though, is the ground clearance, of which there is more.
Volvo is expected to only offer the more powerful engines in its range, with a plug-in hybrid likely offered as well.
Expect to see it in showrooms early next year.
